Speaker: Barry Abramowitz Most recently Barry was the Chief Information Officer at Liberty Bank, a Connecticut bank with $7B in assets and 60 locations. Barry led a team of 60+ employees to ensure the bank remained on the cutting edge of technology and cyber security controls. He was responsible for the planning and implementations related to the complex IT and security needs for the strategic projects and multiple acquisitions which took place during his tenure. Additionally, he was responsible for back-office operations and servicing including deposit servicing, BSA, and debit card processing. Most recently, Barry coordinated multiple Fin-Tech implementations, working closely with the Mastercard Smart Start Program. Additionally, Barry has worked closely with the FBI, Secret Service, IAFCI, and the Connecticut Financial Crimes Task Force to assist in managing, preventing, and investigating cybersecurity threats and fraud and is an active member of Infragard. He is the former Chair of the Connecticut Bankers Association’s Technology Committee and the CFT Bankers Forum. He was a member of banking technology provider COCC’s Strategic Development Council and has held certifications for CGEIT & CRISC from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. Barry was also a long-term faculty member of the Connecticut School of Finance and Management and appeared on a 60 Minutes segment related to debit card fraud. Contact: [email protected] |
